Help for Autistic Boy Who Lost His Mother to Murder February 19, 2011 TAMPA - On this Saturday afternoon, Pinchasers on Armenia Avenue was full of bowlers. But the group, wasn't just here to have fun. They were here for Aidric: Aidric is 5 years old. He was who Larsen Hunt lived for. Her special little boy who has special needs. He is the reason why, Larsen's childhood friend Nicole Sacca stepped in to help. "Aidric has been diagnosed with Autism, which can be very expensive with the diets that they have and the special needs and therapy that he has. So we are trying to help the family because Larsen was working to help pay for Aidrics assistance," she explained. Larsen, a prenatal nurse, was killed in the home she grew up in back in October. Shortly after her death, her parents, Richard and Susan, shared their daughter had moved back in with them to escape her boyfriend Jason Skinner. And despite doing all the right things, including filing a restraining order, he forced his way in to their home, changing this family and especially this little boy's life forever. "He's doing ok, obviously he would be doing better if his mom was here, but he's doing ok with the help of the family," Sacca said. Skinner drove to St. Petersburg and crashed into an apartment and died hours after police say he killed Larsen. Richard and Susan are now raising their grandson. "We are not there everyday but we would like to help the family as much as possible and do anything to help Aidric and have Larsen Legacy live on." Sacca said. The event was off to a good start. Early Saturday, 23 of the 25 lanes had been booked in Aidric's name. All the money is going towards his assistance fund. And that's not all. The family justice center set up a table as well. The group helps victim's of domestic violence. Larsen's friends and family know there loved one is gone but they hope her story, will give others in a bad situation courage. They hope to make this bowling event an annual one. In the meantime, they will rally around, who Larsen loved the most, her son. If you would like to help Aidric, information can be found on the Aidric Hunt Assistance fund on Facebook. You can donate as well at any Bank of America. |
