Expanding Wesley House
October 6, 2011 By Nick Adam A center dedicated to caring for victims of sexual assault, and other similar crimes, could be coming to Meridian very soon. Representatives from the National Family Justice Center Alliance are in Meridian this week talking to officials from Wesley House and other agencies. The group is based in San Diego, and President Casey Gwinn says that Wesley House has many of the resources necessary to house the state's first family justice center. "This community is clearly ready for a family justice center," said Gwinn Tuesday, "clearly ready for a model that puts all the services under one roof where victims can come one place with their kids for everything they need." If all goes as planned, Wesley House could house an operating family justice center within the next six months. |
