Ask the DA “Domestic Violence”

I recently confided in a neighbor about my boyfriend who is becoming increasingly abusive to me. The verbal abuse has escalated, and until I spoke with my neighbor I had been too embarrassed and ashamed to talk about it with anyone. I would like to get help to end this relationship, but do not want to go to court if I can avoid it. Is there a place that I can go for help?
